INSPIRATION

Dreaming about it is the first step for Kendir. He first designs his works in his mind, then creates them the way he dreamt they would be. Another important matter for him in making jewellery is loving what he is doing and making objects that he loves. As he started making jewellery at a very young age with the influence of classicism, he uses old fashioned tools to create old styled jewellery.

Involving cultures from all around the world and inspiring elements throughout the city, Istanbul became a great influence on the artist. Being the city he grew up in and still being his place of residence, Istanbul can be seen as an essential part of his work.

Nature also has an important part of Kendir’s inspiration as he says “Everything comes from nature.”. Colors and elements within the nature, even the movement of animals can be an inspiration for Kendir.
